Winter Coats for Momma and Toddlers

Brrrr! It’s getting chilly. We woke up this morning to 23-degree weather in northern Michigan. I kid you not. I am so happy we snagged Rowan and I a winter coat early on this season so that we were prepared for the bitter cold that has come around much too early. Dusty has had a nice black North Face winter coat for a handful of years and is still wearing it without complaint. I’ve always been a big fan of purchasing winter coats that are quality and can last for years – and in the midwest, it’s a necessity. Unfortunately, for kids’ sake, they can outgrow them season after season, so buying gender neutral colors helps, especially if you have multiple kids so that the coats can be handed down one to the next.

I went to a local store called Getzs to try on a handful of North Face coats and then I stumbled upon this Lole coat and fell in love. There were so many things I loved more about this coat vs the North Face one I tried on. Mainly the more feminine look and feel of the Lole coat, it also was a more room size medium which I liked in order to layer sweaters and sweatshirts underneath. And all of the pockets on the Lole coat are so awesome! Keep scrolling to the bottom of this blog post to shop other winter coats that I love right now for the entire family.

My Lole Coatwearing size medium
Lole is actually having a huge sale on this coat and it is much less expensive now than when I purchased it. You won’t be disappointed with this coat. I’ve even worn it a handful of times and have been SO impressed with the way it protects against the cold wind. I feel like I’m still cozy in my bed when I wear it 🙂

Black Zella Leggings – wearing size medium
These are an awesome pair of high rise leggings. I love them – a lot. And they have been a staple in my wardrobe this year.

My Booties – wearing size 7
I couldn’t find a link for these in the tan/taupe color I’m wearing but they do still have them in black and they are super cute!

Pink Pom Hat
I love this hat sooo much, it’s so so cozy. I bought mine at a craft fair two Christmas’s ago, but the one I have linked here is basically identical and only half the price I paid. $12.99 on Amazon!

Rowan’s North Face – wearing size 2T
This North Face is reversible which is so cool! We loved the camo on one side and the solid green on the other. The jacket is a size 2T for Rowan and we are happy with the arm length. Winter coats are always hard for toddlers and kids because you don’t want them too long as to restrict walking and playing, but you also don’t want them too short. If I had one gripe about this coat it’s that it seems a little short in length – so if your toddler is a taller child it may not be the best match. But for Rowan – it was perfect and he’s about average height (we’ll find out this Thursday at his 2-year well child) haha!

Rowan’s Tom Shoes – wearing size 6
I love Tom Shoes for toddlers. Ever since my mother in law bought Rowan a pair last year I’ve been obsessed with them. 1) they are cute 2) they support a great cause 3) Rowan loves them and 4) the quality is good! These little brown ones were so cute I couldn’t pass them up. The great transitional shoe for fall and into winter. Rowan is currently in a size 6 and still has a little wiggle room in the toes. I’m hoping they will last him until spring.
