Why We Love Our Leesa Mattress

Dusty and I had been on the hunt for a new mattress for our King bed for a while now. We had our old mattress for about 3.5 years and realized pretty quickly that it wasn’t holding up the way we had hoped. We were disappointed and a bit frustrated with how quickly the mattress seemed to give way to its original form and firmness…causing us to sleep terribly and uncomfortably. Ever since having Rowan two years ago I have experienced lower back pain that would radiate through my left leg. I’ve done stretches, foam rolling, and chiropractic care in hopes of relieving the discomfort I was feeling in the mornings when I woke and to help with the tossing and turning I experienced all night…all of the therapy provided only temporary relief. Frustrated with this chronic discomfort I resorted to blaming my body for it all “I’m getting old” or “I can’t bounce back like I maybe once could”. Getting a new mattress would be my last ditch effort to do something to help.

I am a firm believer that good sleep = a good attitude. Or at least it helps – BIG TIME. Making the choice to what mattress we use nightly…a big one.

We chose the Leesa king size mattress. One of the coolest things we experienced was the unboxing of the Leesa mattress! It was so neat. The mattress arrives in a vacuum sealed plastic covering that when you open allows the mattress to inflate into its normal size. You have to watch the video to see for yourself. SO cool!

The Leesa mattress comes with a 100-day risk-free trial, but let us tell you, it only took one night for us to know we loved it. We realized quickly that the reviews on their website aren’t lying.

Our First Night:
Where do I begin? This was the first night in two years…where I didn’t wake up in the middle of the night tossing and turning with lower back pain. This was the first morning in two years where I didn’t wake up with a tingling numb left leg and limping to the bathroom like an old woman. I was in complete awe and shock at how good I felt. The Leesa mattress’s all-new responsive mattress layer that adapts to pressure points saved me. We’ve been using the mattress for almost a week now and the trend continues – no pain. Dusty slept like a baby, which didn’t surprise me. His words were “It’s so soft, yet firm. I felt like I slept on a cloud – floating on air!”

Our Sleep Style & Rest Routine:
I tend to be a back sleeper while Dusty is more of a side sleeper. I typically sleep on my back because in the past, sleeping on my side left my shoulders and neck feeling tight and sore in the mornings. But the Leesa mattress also is designed for relieving pressure on the shoulders and for those with shoulder issues – so a side sleeper I’m becoming! I typically like to get into bed and sit and read for a bit or work on my computer while Dusty more often than not falls asleep within the first 5 minutes of getting under the covers. The Leesa mattress is so comfortable for just relaxing and reading a book or working. Every time I jump into bed and feel the comfort of the mattress a feeling of “ahhhh” seems to escape my mind. It’s literally that great!

Since I know many of my readers are conscious of things being made in the USA and the materials things are made with. Below is a list.

  • Leesa mattresses are made and manufactured in the USA
  • The mattresses are CertiPUR-US ®-Certified
  • Made without ozone depleters
  • Made without PBDE flame retardants
  • Made without mercury, lead, and other heavy metals
  • Made without formaldehyde
  • Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission
  • Low VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions for indoor air quality (< 0.5 parts per million)

And last, but not least, the company gives back. Since 2014 they’ve donated over 30,000 mattresses to over 1,000 nonprofits.

Oh, and I can’t forget – Gus and Reo love it too!
