The last and final step of the Capsule Wardrobe series…Create a Shopping List. This is a fun step in that it allows you to sit back, assess all of your hard work, and decide where you need to fill the gaps. While working on steps 1 – 4, you may have realized that you need a good quality black cardigan to layer over some of your blouses, or perhaps a new pair of stretchy denim to go with some of your comfy t-shirts. Whatever it is you are in need of to round out your capsule wardrobe…one thing should be for certain…that you’ve got a game plan! You should feel relieved, a little lighter, a little less stressed…and much more organized. The items in your closet should feel cohesive…and you should find that you can mix, match, and layer many of the items. If you don’t feel totally satisfied…my advice is to go back and start working on step 1-4 again. It won’t take you nearly as long…but it will allow you to reassess what you may have skipped over in haste. And sometimes…during the first go-through….we aren’t always honest with ourselves. You may notice you should have tossed a few more things.
Here is a list of some of my favorite shops to purchase basic and good quality items from that are great for layering.

J.Crew Factory
Gap
Madewell
American Eagle
