This fall, I’ve been more interested in creating textured low-maintenance hair vs curly big hair like I usually have. I found a quick and simple way to get a textured effort-less look that takes about 15 minutes to achieve! This look is definitely mom approved! Keep reading to find out the steps and the products I used from Meijer.

I only used three things to achieve this look.
1) Remington – T|Studio Silk Ceramic 1″ Dial Flat Iron
2) Herbal Essence Dry Shampoo
3) Garnier Whole Blends Smoothing Oil
Step 1) While the iron is warming, I use the Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo throughout my hair. I love the way dry shampoo allows my hair to hold onto the look for an extra day or two between washes. The product also helps create that textured voluminous look that I like to try to go for.
Step 2) I clip up half of my hair so that I can start using the iron on the longer under layers. You can section your hair off in whatever way works best for you…I tend not to do anything super fancy.
Step 3) I grab sections of hair that are anywhere from 2-4 inches thick. I start to twist the hair in my fingers so that it forms a twisted rope.
Step 4) I take the iron and I use it to clamp down and heat my hair, little by little, from root to tip. Once done, I just let the piece of hair fall. The dry shampoo keeps my hair in place after using the iron – but if you have more fine hair, I’d toss some hairspray at it.
Step 5) Let down sections of your hair and continue to repeat steps 3 and 4 until all of your hair is complete. When your hair has cooled, use your fingers to loosen the curls.
Step 6) I then use the smoothing oil and lightly run my hands over my hair to help smooth out any frizzy pieces. I then like to clip half of my hair up, but you can leave yours down if you’d like 🙂
