A Day With My Boys

This past weekend Dusty came home after being away for work/school and we didn't have any concrete plans so we decided to just take it easy and spend some time together as a family. After Rowan's nap on Saturday morning, we packed up and headed into town, grabbing coffee and biscotti's at one of our favorite coffee places. We then hit up the local history museum to see a World War I exhibit and ended our afternoon at a local brewery that is super baby friendly. The brewery has a huge community space, and we were one of the only ones there in the middle of the day – it typically sees a lot of commotion at night and in the evenings when bands are playing…but at this particular time of day…it was just us! So we grabbed a beverage from the bar downstairs and lounged around on their comfy couches. The weather still isn't super warm out yet in Michigan making it hard to be outside long with Rowan…a space like this was perfect for adult + baby time.

When we go out with Rowan we try to keep things simple. We attempt not to take too much along with us. He loves being carried in the Ergo (facing out of course) so we usually bring that, a diaper bag, bottle, diaper/wipes, and a teething toy or two. Dusty likes using this amazing backpack we recently got from Just Porter. He can use it for school, or when we go out with Rowan. We went with the Hazen Professional Backpack and while it's designed for a laptop, books, and a lot of other professional items – it comes in just as handy when he wants to toss in Rowan's stuff too!

A BIG thank you to Just Porter for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions on the product are my own! I appreciate you supporting the brands that I work with!
