Although I like to pretend I have an eye for interior design…I really can’t say its my strong point. Pinterest has given me the inspiration to attempt it…and luckily, I’ve been able to pull a few pieces together to make the spaces in my home work…but in the end I always feel I could do better, if only I could “see it the way the designers see it”. And perhaps hiring someone to just lay it all out would be SO MUCH easier and in the end make me much more satisfied. But where to even begin? Which leads me to introduce this genius company, Curio Design Studio. Curio Design Studio delivers interior design for the digital era! Delivered 100% online, they take on a revolutionary approach to interior design services. And yes, because it is digital and 100% online…you can do it all from the comfort of your sofa with your sweat pants on. (Ahhhhhmazzzing – right?) So perhaps you’re in the process of designing a nursery, toddlers room, living space, kitchen or even a bathroom and you just aren’t quite sure where to even begin? Look no further! And enter to win a free consultation by Curio Design Studio valued at $200!
About Curio Design & Owner, Alison Harlow
In spring of 2012 Curio Design was born from the idea that great interior design can be affordable and accessible to everyone regardless of budget or location. By rethinking how the client and the designer approach interior design projects, I have come up with a way to deliver custom and professional interiors to clients without breaking the bank.
The process is simple—you (the client) measure your space, fill out our design questionnaire and send it over via email. Once we receive it we schedule a consult to go over any remaining questions we might have about the space. In 10-15 days you will receive a design package custom tailored to meet your budget, style and space requirements. The package will give you everything you need to execute a perfect designer interior—Scaled & labeled floorplans directing you where to place décor and furniture, a material & furnishings board, 3D renderings with implementation guides to help you visualize and execute the design along with a detailed shopping list linking you to retailers where all items in the design can be purchased. A design package from Curio Design Studio is a simple step-by-step guide to creating home, office or commercial space that you love.
Often times my clients share visual representations of things that they love from Pinterest or Houzz. I love this because it gives me a clear illustration of what a client is attracted too, even if they aren’t sure how to articulate it in the design questionnaire. I scoured through Samantha’s Inside Spaces Pinterest board and found one image that I was totally drooling over and broke it down into a ‘Shop-able’ look you can easily implement into your space!
This space is beautifully monochromatic. Here’s how to get the look: Start with a clean fresh base on the walls with Benjamin Moore’s Simply White paint. A neutral flat woven area rug anchors the seating zone . Add in a classic style sofa in modern gray upholstery to create contrast . Layer in mixed patterned throw pillows in shades of black, white and gray . Mismatched accent tables with complementary style lines create a “collected” feel in the room. 6] . Finish the space off with soft lighting and a gallery wall displaying customized silhouettes of you and your honey. 2] .
