DIY Succulent Garden

I have always wanted a clay pot full of succulents to adorn my kitchen table. This spring I decided it was time to make one! It was really easy and I can’t wait to display it in our new home this coming August. There is no right or wrong way to create a garden of succulents. I found some lovely small cactus plants that I incorporated in to mine, these particular cacti have some color, which I love. All you need is a pot of some sort, a bag of potting soil and enough succulents to fill it! I also took rocks and small pebbles from the yard to fill in around the succulents once they were planted…this provided a little more texture and security to plants as their roots take hold. Enjoy!

Have you tried potting succulents before? What sort of spring gardening are you doing?

Beautiful! I’m so going to do this! I had a couple of succulents in water in crystal rose bowls and killed them. πŸ™ I love the color in yours! Also…the new blog looks FABulous friend! Congrats!

Thanks Natalie! I appreciate you stopping by and saying hello, and your kind comments. I haven’t tried succulents in a water crystal rose bowl, sounds pretty though πŸ™‚ (for the time they lasted) hehe. I am not an expert at keeping plants alive. *crossing my fingers on this one*

I just planted lavender, cucumbers, spinach, lettuce, peppers, broccoli and sunflowers over the weekend. Can’t wait to see what actually grows. I’m not a green thumb…you might have to teach me how it’s done. Your pot looks great!
